Tonto Dike finally explains the meaning of ‘POKO’

If you are a Tonto Dike fan (aren’t we all?) then we have great news for you! Tonto Dike has finally divulged the meaning of her favourite slang ‘POKO‘!

It’s taken a while but she finally gave it up and who got her to do so? None other than another controversial person - Sudanese-Egyptian author and poet or better still self-styled home wrecker Kola Boof!

Now we know the thought of putting Tonto Dike and Kola Boof in the same sentence alone can be disastrous but things didn’t turn out that bad between them as they exchanged pleasantries on social network Twitter.

And when Boof asked Tonto what the meaning of ‘Poko’ was, initially assuming it was a movie, Tonto responded, explaining it is the name of her alter-ego.

Tonto has used the slang in her songs and in thousands of her tweets.

The Nollywood actress back in July announced she would give out N1m to one lucky Twitter fan who got the meaning of ‘Poko’.

Safe to say she wouldn’t be giving out any money.

Banky W announced as MTV VJ Search judge, to release new singles

The hunt for MTV Base’s new VJ is heating up, and with just over two weeks to go until the auditions, R&B boss Banky W has been announced as a judge!

Although he won’t be the only judge on the show, Banky will be helping identify the brand new VJ who will become one of the key faces of the music network, hosting programmes on MTV Base and on the MTV Base Block on STV.

Meanwhile, the EME chairman is set to release his long awaited fourth album ‘R&BW.’

After his last solo release ‘The W Experience’ in 2010, the 31-year-old has spent the past two years building the EME label, nurturing the likes of Wizkid and Skales and signing more artistes (Shaydee, Niyola) to the label.

In January, Mr W announced that he would push back the release of his album until the state of the nation got better. In June, the EME crew released their first ever compilation album ‘Empire State of Mind.’

He will be releasing his two new singles ‘Yes/No’ produced by Cobhams Asuquo and ‘Good good loving’ produced by Spellz.

I Will Marry Iyanya If He Proposes’ – Ghanian Actress, Yvonne Nelson

According to Yes! Magazine, when asked if she would marry Iyanya if he proposed, Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson, who pointed out that she was single and searching, replied:



    Maybe, yeah, maybe. You never know. Yeah. I will accept if he proposes. I mean, he’s good, a nice guy.

Yvonne: Not yet. I am still searching
Yes!: Can you tell us about your alleged romance with Iyanya because he mentioned your name in one of his tracks
Yvonne: He is a good friend of mine. I am his biggest fan. I love his music. He’s an amazing guy, special guy! That’s about it.
Yes!: If he proposes to you today, would you say yes?
Yvonne: Maybe, yeah, maybe. You never know. Yeah. I will accept if he proposes. I mean, he’s good, a nice guy.
