Ali Baba, Kate Henshaw, Funke Akindele, others join JJC Skillz for new video

Skillz spotting a new look…
Catholic Mission and Campbell Streets on Lagos Island were shut to traffic on Sunday 30 September as the two streets were used as locations for the filming of a flash mob dance video of London-based singer and rapper, JJCSkillz‘ new single ‘African skank‘.
The shoot of the new single, currently enjoying airplay on various radio stations across Nigeria and UK, features a clutch of celebrities including Ali Baba, Kate Henshaw, Weird MC, Goldie, DJ Sose, Wilson Alao, Funke Akindele, Kaffy, Denrele, Anita Isedeh (Omalicha), Gbenro Ajibade, among others.
African skank‘ is a sound aptly termed Electro-Afrobeat. It is an eclectic blend of Afro Rhythm techno, Dirty dutch and pop beats all tuned to popular dances like the Azonto, Etighi and Alanta.
In the video, Ali Baba sporting a LASTMA uniform, did the Azonto dance with the hood kidz, while actress Kate Henshaw delivered her prowess in Etigi and Denrele Edun did the Massia dance.
JJCSkillz says that the flash mob dance is a new concept which has never been done in the Nigerian music scene. It was directed by JJCSkillz and Gini, CEO, Omo Ita Entertainment.
Born Abdul Rasheed Bello, JJCSkillz is the award winning artiste, director and creator of the JJC & the 419 Squad, Big Brovas and the Afropean sound (a blend of Yoruba language mixed with English). His last single ‘We Are Africans’ was a massive hit and the phenomenal response to the single lead to its various remixes in Nigeria and Europe.
