After much success on her “Intuition” album with the hit single “Know” featuring M.I,  Lami is thrilled to announce the release of the latest single off her Sophomore album, “Pieces of Love,” from which her “Ori Mi Wu” single featuring Iceprince, comes from. The new single, “Titi LaiLai” will be available everywhere on the 9th of October, 2012.
 ”Titi LaiLai” is a FunkSoul track. Written & Composed by Lami Phillips. Produced by Femi Temowo (mobo award nominee for best Jazz artiste; guitarist & producer to Amy Winehouse, George Benson, The Roots and more.
 Album style is AfroFunkSoul with all tracks written by Lami Phillips and music direction by Femi Temowo. It should be released mid next 2013.
 Industry mates refer to “Titi LaiLai” as a breath of fresh air as Lami comes off with a style new to the industry.

1. Hey Lami, how are you?
Im fine thank you!..nervous…excited…tickled!
2. We know who you are, but for those that don’t, who is Lami Philips?
Haha! Lami Phillips is a simple,real,intuitive,gifted,grounded,eccelctic singer and songwriter..there are other adjectives and accolades but the most important is that i am a child of God
3. What genre of music would you say you fit into?
These days i’m evolving into afroFunkSoul
4. If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?
I have no idea…im pretty versatile it all depend on the message behind the lyrics!maybe hiphop or pure jazz
5. What genre of music can’t you stand to listen to?
I listen to everything ; from country music to pure rock!
6. Do people ever compare you to Asa?
All the time! its a huge compliment but I dont believe im there yet!
7. How long have you been in the music industry(Professionally & Non-Professionally) ?
In the Nigerian music industry….2years. Outside Nigeria(Uk&USA) almost 10years
8. Do you play any musical instrument(s)?
i dabble with the piano when im writting or composing…and i work on strings when putting chords together. i wont perform with them though…i want to focus on performing as a vocal artiste,…,thats my strength
 9. How is the experience so far , especially in Nigeria?
oh wow! we’d need a thesis on that!! its been a learning experience to say the least. Nigeria aint for the feeble hearted but its home.
10. Like the fans, we’ve been wondering where Lami disappeared to. Some said you quit! Why the hiatus.
haha!i’ll be honest…i did think about quitting. its no secret that im not a fan of the processes and lack of structure in the Nigerian music Industry. i started to feel like i had to compromise to be accepted. i dealt with a lot of unproffessional proffessionals who exploited the “intuition” album and the brand. Being a woman ..putting out “clean’ afrosoul music and making it mainstream in Nigeria is a paradox on many levels.
11. Last Official single was “Ori Mi Wu” and your new single, “Titi Lai”. Both talking about love in their different ways. Is there anyone in particular that inspires your music?
YESSSSSSS!
12. Should we expect an album from you?
Yes you should by Gods grace!
13. How soon will your fans be able to lay hands on your album?
Hopefully early next year…i’m not rushing myself or the creative process this time
